Update Passport Processing- Request to change release date earlier than "Rush"! :

I know that this information will really be very helpful to those asking whether it is possible to change the release date of your passport earlier than "Rush" application? Well for my husband's case it is possible. There are ways to request to have your passport release earlier than the alloted waiting days for the "Rush" application.

My husband processed his passport application last 5-Nov-11 (Saturday), yes!it is a Saturday due to 7-Nov-11 was declared as a holiday, so to give way to those who have online appointment during the said holiday, DFA was available during Saturday that particular day, anyway, the application and processing has been completed and we opted to have it delivered so the release date of his passport was 21-Nov-11 since it is through door-to-door delivery it will be sent to us on 23-Nov-11.

My husband is applying for a passport since he needs to go to London, United Kingdom on January 2012 for a week convention for the company he is working for, and so there is a need to process for Visa as well, his boss required them to have their passport ready before 21-Nov-11 so to process the Visa appliacation.

The process they went through to request for the passport release date earlier:

(1) HR Supervisor provided them a letter of intent informing DFA that there is a need to the applicant's passport to be release any date earlier than the given date (21-Nov-11).

(2) Present the receipt of the passport (not the one you paid for delivery receipt)

(3) You will have to undergo interview in Passport Processing Division to explain the urgency of the change of early date.

(4)  Once passed the interview, you will have a go signal to refund the delivery charge your paid for, and get the original passoport receipt from them.

(5) Provide them the Passport receipt and they will have to change the release date.

Remarks:
Whenever requesting to change the release date of your passport earlier, it will only be for PICK-UP and this does not have the option for delivery otherwise it will still be delivered to you based on the original date.


As for my husband's case, the passport release has been changed from 21-Nov-11 to 17-Nov-11 for pick up. So the small changes in the date of release will be very helpful in processing the Visa for their company trip.
