Government Processing : Vehicle Registration
Our sedan is due to be registered last August 2017. but since we were too busy we were not able to find time to process it, so this year since we were on leave, we headed to LTO Imus to have our vehicle registered.
Car Type : Sedan
Condition : Brandnew
Purchased Branch : NCR
I would like to share the process I went through so the next time your vehicle to be registered then you have the idea of the run around.
First Step: If your vehicle is brand new, kindly check from the branch where you bought your unit if the plate number has already been uploaded in LTO. If not yet, then you may request to have it uploaded for you, although there are instances that they do not do it for the buyer, so you need to go to the LTO region where you bought your unit. In our case we bought it from Las Pinas which is from NCR and we have our vehicle registered in Imus, therefore LTO Imus can not do the uploading process for us it should be done in LTO Quezon City. In the event that your vehicle plate number is not yet uploaded you can not start with the Vehicle Registration process, do not worry you may deal with where you will be getting your TPL insurance since they have LTO Laiason officers to help you upload from other region for a specific fee.
Second Step : Get a Form and Fill it out. This form is for free and believe me you do not have to deal with Fixer since the process is really fast and stress free.
Third Step : Go to the Emission Test. In this step they can check if your plate number has already been uploaded or not, if your plate number is not yet uploaded do not proceed with the Emission Testing since this is only valid from the day you made the testing, so if you can not have your vehicle registered on that day since you need to process the uploading then you will have to do the testing and pay for it again.
Fourth Step: Stencil and Check up. LTO staff will check your warning device, have your motor vehicle stenciled and your vehicle papers. In our case since our vehicle is not yet fully paid so they were looking for the original receipt and we only have the authenticated photo copy, therefore we were asked to get a notarized document that we can only present the authenticated photo copy of our ORCR instead of the original copy. Then I get back to the LTO officer who checked all the documents and papers and have it signed.
Fifth Step : We went to TPL Insurance, check the fully filled out form, paid for it and attached the policy.
Sixth Step : We went to the Information table and gave us a number, this number is for verification and computation of our total payment, then they will forward it to Cashier and waited for our name to be called.
Seventh Step : Payment
Eight Step : Release of Sticker, which is same day.
Take note, the whole process can be done one whole day provided the LTO system is not offline, or your papers are complete and your plate number has been uploaded.
Emission Test (car) PHP 400
Notary PHP 150
TPL Insurance PHP 850
Vehicle Registraiton (with penalty) PHP 2700
Total Payment PHP 4100
If you do not want to pay for any penalty make sure to have your vehicle registered before the week of the designated month when your plate is due. You may refer to the LTO Vehicle Registration for your complete reference and details.
I hope this helps you the next time you need to process your vehicle registration.
