Mt. Samat

Mt. Samat it is a historic mountain in the town of Pilár, Province of Bataan, in the Republic of the Philippines. Located near its summit is the Mount Samat National Shrine, a national shrine dedicated to the fallen Filipino and American fallen during World War II. (source : Wikipedia)

We checked out from our hotel earlier to give way with our travel time from Morong, Bataan to Pilar. It was almost 2 hours travel time going to Mt. Samat, the road going to the mountain was steep cqan be compared to 3x Baguio road-like.  It was not an easy drive, and when we arrived the place it was worth the travel since the place is full of historic memories, this is the first time that I visited the place, while my hubby was able to visit the historic place when he went with his father in a business trip.

We had our series of photo op, and then we went inside the museum, it was filled with knowledge of history on what had happened and the more I am thankful and feeling blessed of the freedom we have at this time.  At this point in time there are only Word War no more World War!!

Signature Pose
Every memories of the Fall of Bataan was really a heart breaking scene seeing all the photos collected and preserved it was really a hard earned freedom on what we are enjoying right now.

The place was well maintained the only problem was the elevator going to the top of the Mt. Samat cross that is no longer working for who knows for how long,  so we were not able to get inside the cross and enjoyed the view, however we were able to come close to the cross, we went there by car since we have our 4 year old with us so it will be very difficult for going up via stairs.

We were charged total of 200php including parking fee and entrance to the museum for 6 upon entering the place. We were given discounts since we have 10year old and 4year old child.

When getting inside the museum they are not strict with dress code for as long as you do not take pictures with flash and kindly observe silence when inside the museum, no horseplaying or laughing loud.

Entrance Fee : 50
Parking Fee   : 50
Dress Code : nothing in particular

Next time you visit Bataan, do not miss your chance in paying a visit Mt. Samat!
